CAPP讲座：与著名华裔电视节目主持人吕勇诗“聊天”

     吕勇诗（Richard Lui）曾任美国CNN“上午新闻快车”节目主持人。自2010年起，他在MSNBC做新闻节目主持人，曾经主持报道了2011年美国国会债务封顶、阿拉伯之春和赤字超级委员会失败等新闻。他日常报道主要关注美国的茶党运动、候选人怎样用社交媒体策略等。2019年1月17日，吕勇诗在亚特兰大Fernbank博物馆主持了庆祝中美建交四十周年的招待会。有美国媒体这样介绍他：吕勇诗是一个“文艺复兴”人（Renaissance Man），从连锁饼干店主管到全国电视台主播，他在美国走出了与众不同的成功之路。

8月30日，吕勇诗会与我们分享他的个人经历，包括他成长的心酸、上学的经历、在企业界的打拼和作为电视节目主持人的成功。他还会向我们介绍媒体在美国政治中的作用及如何报道中美关系的冲突。

吕勇诗会在“对话”之后回答听众的提问。

Richard Lui has been a MSNBC dayside anchor  since September 2010.  He has anchored some of the network’s major breaking stories, including  the 2011 debt-ceiling debate, the Arab Spring,  and the deficit super-committee failure. 
His daily reports have included the Tea Party  movement, candidates’ social media strategies,  and the link of unemployment to electability.  Before joining MSNBC, Lui spent five years at  CNN Worldwide, most recently with CNN Headline News as the solo anchor of the 10 a.m. hour of “Morning Express.” 
Richard Lui will share his personal story with us,  highlighting what kind of difficulties immigrants  and their children face in America, particularly the hurdles Asian Americans must overcome to  become successful. Beyond his personal  experience, Richard will also chat with us the role of media in American politics and in informing its  viewers on the current US-China confrontation. It will be a town hall meeting format and you will get a chance to ask him questions throughout the evening.
